DESCRIPTION: Vacheron & Constantin, Genève, British Hydrographic Services (HS2) deck watch, 60mm, very heavy sterling silver .925 OF original HB&B case with silver cuvette, bearing Swiss touchmarks and "FFBA" case marking, SW-SS, original silvered dial, fully capped lever escapement with expansion balance, 20J, fausses-côtes NI damascene, Department of Defence pheon mark on mvt and case, s#444703, case #279563, HS #4703, ca 1939. Gross weight of assembled watch 99.2 dwt (154.4 g). In outstanding condition. The HS2 marking designates a chronometer adjusted for isochronism in at least five positions, only HS1 being higher of higher rank with detent escapement.
CONDITION: Mvt: GRO, pristine mvt condition overall; dial mint; hands mint save for slight bend in minute; case shows very little wear, some MFS, no dents or dings, crisp contract detail; bow tight, unworn, crown shows very little wear; clean plastic crystal.

DESCRIPTION: Hamilton "Torpedo Boat Watch" with 56-hour winding indicator for US Shipping Board, 36S, 69mm massive sterling silver OF original CWCCo case with US Shipping Board logo and "342" marking on back, SW pin-set, original silvered DS dial, fully capped lever escapement, 21J, GJS, striped NI damascene, s#1260139, with associated USSB Hamilton box labeled to watch No. 341 which is one number away from the marking on this example's case.
CONDITION: Mvt: Ticking very sluggishly on a full wind and after a twist, OH recommended, near mint mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, small number of MFS; dial with some scattered mild small spotting; near mint hands; case shows very little wear, some MFS, no dents or dings; tight bow, crown shows very little wear; good glass crystal; box exterior with some mild marks and light wear.

DESCRIPTION: Hamilton, model 21 marine chronometer, fusee-drive, fully capped spring detent escapement, 14J, ribbed pattern NI damascene marked "No 4954-1941," original silvered dial with identical marking, 56-hour power reserve, used mvt in NOS tub with gimbals, NOS brass-mounted and banded mahogany box with gilt Hamilton signature plate, s#2E4954. Mvt condition is distinctly below the NOS case & gimbals, conclusively showing the mvt to be from a different source. The box and gimbals deserve a mint occupant.
CONDITION: GRO, good escapement function, fine mvt condition overall, plate cloudiness, many MFS, FS, checkered scratches and nicks, no oxide; dial fine, re-coated with MFS and checks, bezel rub - dial has extremely patchy appearance at an angle; hands mint; pristine tub & gimbals; good beveled glass crystal, mint box with only mild oxide on handles and a few tiny nicks on top.

DESCRIPTION: Hamilton deck watch, grade 3992B for the Canadian Navy, center-seconds, 16S, .800 silver original case with contract markings for Canadian Hydrographic Services on rear along with Canadian pheon (broad arrow in "C") symbol and mvt serial number, SW-hack-setting, WED with 13 to 24 hour indications, fully capped lever escapement, 22J, AMAC balance & Elinvar HS system, striped NI damascene, s#3C2452 on mvt and case back, in fitted Hamilton box. This Canadian Navy 3992B is significantly scarcer than the 3992B version that was supplied to the British Navy. The watch has "US Govt" marking on plate, perhaps a consequence of the Lend-Lease Act. The HS3 marking designates a deck watch adjusted for isochronism in at least two positions.
CONDITION: Mvt: NR, balance overbanked, excellent mvt condition overall; perfect dial; excellent hands; case shows little wear and a nice acquired patina, some MFS, small mar to a few of the reeds at upper part of bezel; tight bow, crown shows little wear; clean plastic crystal; box with "#22" lightly scratched at upper portion of top, some mild marks elsewhere.

DESCRIPTION: Bulova Accutron Navigator Mark II, deck watch in original O-ring sealed tub, shock-resistant solid quality laminate deck-watch box with window under top, 24-hour dial, three grade 214H mechanisms stacked at 120-degree rotation from one another, two of the mvts being tuning fork and coil only, to deliver the average of three going rates. Introduced in 1967, these clocks appear to deliver extraordinary accuracy in tests after overhaul, as some have documented online. We sold one from the estate of Red Skelton in 2014.

DESCRIPTION: Hamilton deck watch, boxed for French Navy or other military use, grade 2974B with "US Govt" marking on plate, 16S, CPBM OF original SB&B case with snap-cuvette, SW-SS, WE boxcar SSD, lever escapement with AMAC balance system, 17J, ribbed pattern NI damascene, s#2K6186. The case-back and box tabs bear matching numbers, "SH108" on case-back, "No108SH" on tabs. The black hinged holder insert for the watch is signed "J Auricoste à Paris" on its back, and the bow removed for use in this form. In 1889, Joseph Auricoste succeeded Emile Thomas, a marine chronometer maker since 1854, continuing service to the French Navy and eventually other branches of the nation's military. Collaboration with Patek Philippe after WWII created the first electro-mechanical system for all of France's naval warships. The generational company continues its horological services to the present day.
CONDITION: Mvt: GRO, near mint mvt condition overall; dial perfect, mint luster; hands mint; case shows little wear, but the case-back was turned down after acquisition and the new French number stamped in the back, with the same number etched on the cuvette; case otherwise shows few MFS, no dents or dings, good reeding detail, a few marks at the back edge from attempted use of case-knife on the screwed-back; bow not present but ready for replacement, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal; box in excellent condition.
