Mvt lot (2) Early French oignon style verge fusees, KWKS, gilt mvts with pierced and foliate scrolled two-footed balance bridges, one runs - [1] Andre Hory a Paris, 50mm, white enamel dial presumably a replacement as mvt has additional dial plate holes, mvt is wound through center pinion on dial side, NR, fully wound with chain and balance intact and give a few ticks with a twist, some pieces added to dial plate of mvt presumably to enable mounting in a clock case. Andre Hory is listed in Brian Loomes' "Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World" as active circa 1700-1750. [2] L. Le Beuf a Paris, 47mm, missing its dial, running. Le Beuf is listed in Brian Loomes' "Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World" as active circa 1710.

Edge of added perimeter dial plate is marked "Ch J D L M Fevr 1793" which is presumably dating the modification of this mvt to striking on gongs. Dial plate has a brass ring around its perimeter and in the portion of the pillar plate visible within this ring are interesting engraved markings of "P.G. 1705," "faitte en 1705 let minutes ajoutees en 1714" (made in 1705 and minutes added in 1714) and "dore et finie en Mars 1734" (gilded and finished in 1734).
