Includes the original inner and outer boxes as well as the manuals, original punch papers and matching hang tag with serial number. Some time in the mid-1980s, the original owner had the black dial changed for the current silver dial by a Rolex authorized dealer; the owner has since sold the original dial. From the estate of a former NASA engineer of over 40 years who kept this watch in a safety deposit box since the late 1980s.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, recently serviced and keeping excellent time, mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, no oxide; excellent-plus dial with light spotting along perimeter of minute recording subregister; excellent hands show light spotting; unpolished case shows very little wear, retains all of its original factory finishing, this watch has not been cleaned externally and retains all of the dirt from the original owner on the case and bracelet, no dents or dings; unpolished bracelet shows light wear, hardly any stretch; original Rolex signed triplock crown shows hardly any wear, original screw down pushers show hardly any wear, good threads; good crystal; resealed for auction. DESCRIPTION: WW - Breitling Super Ocean "minute creeper" chronograph, ref 2005, manual wind, 42mm x 48mm to lug tips, 22mm lug width, original stainless steel screw back case with bidirectional timing bezel and faceted lugs with round pump pushers, vintage rubber strap, original black dial with luminous painted hour plots and an outer minute chapter in white, chronograph running indicator inset at 6, 17J cal 188, s#1053268, triple signed. Released in 1964, this model replaced the older more traditional diving chronograph Breitling had made, namely the Super Ocean ref 807. Breitling heavily modified the Venus caliber 188 to serve their purposes making this a highly unusual minute creeper chronograph with running indicator at 6 to distinguish when the timer was engaged. Truly a fascinating piece of 1960s era Breitling ingenuity and design.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, chronograph and running indicator function and reset properly, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, hardly any oxide; nearly flawless dial with very light surface spotting; excellent hands with touched up luminous material of a slightly different color; polished case shows very little wear, crisp lug chamfers remain visible as well as some of the original factory finishing, several light dings on the case back from improper use of a case wrench; replacement crown shows little wear; good plastic crystal.

The Omega Speedmaster was chosen by NASA in 1965 after outperforming numerous other contenders in rigorous testing including the famed Rolex Daytona. They were first issued during the Gemini program using the older straight lug style 105.002. More Speedmasters were purchased starting with the Apollo program astronauts being issued the "Professional" marked 105.012's in a beefier case with crown and pusher protectors as seen here. They remain flight qualified by NASA to this day and modern interpretations of this watch are still in production.

This was the first generation of GMT Master that Rolex produced and from the numerous scratches and scrapes it's apparent it has been through quite a lot; if only it could tell it's stories.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good GMT function, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, very little oxide to steelwork, light wear to brass on high edge of main plate and rotor; dial with numerous areas of paint loss as well as ample spotting to surface, luminous paint missing at 2 and 5 with partial loss at 4; replacement service hands including the wrong minute hand and the incorrect GMT which should be a small triangle not a large triangle; polished case shows light wear, lug chamfers are rounded but still visible, dings on the backs of the lugs from bracelet wear as well as the case back, bezel is almost completely worn to brass with hardly any nickel plate still showing; Rolex signed crown shows little wear, good threads; good crystal; resealed for auction.

This is one of 100 originally produced for the launch of the Chonomatic in 1969,. As these started production at serial number 1288906, this is watch number 26 out of an estimated 100 produced, and this particular piece is the lowest serial number that could be found during a cursory internet investigation. Part of the historically significant partnership for project 99, Breitling along with Heuer, Hamilton/Buren and Dubois-Depraz set out to construct the world's first automatic chronograph, although who was truly "first" is up for endless debate among vintage collectors.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, chronograph functions and resets properly, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, no oxide; nearly flawless dial with two small dots on perimeter at 9; excellent-plus hands with light discoloration, sweep hand which was original orange has faded gold in color however when viewed under 10X magnification still shows small strip of orange; lightly polished case shows light wear, some of the original factory finishing is still visible, sharp lug chamfers, hallmarks are crisp and visible, light dings on the backs of the lugs from being worn on a bracelet; replacement crown shows little wear, pushers have worn through on their corners to base metal; good plastic crystal.
