Includes the original inner and outer boxes as well as the manuals, original punch papers and matching hang tag with serial number. Some time in the mid-1980s, the original owner had the black dial changed for the current silver dial by a Rolex authorized dealer; the owner has since sold the original dial. From the estate of a former NASA engineer of over 40 years who kept this watch in a safety deposit box since the late 1980s.

WW - Breitling Super Ocean "minute creeper" chronograph, ref 2005, manual wind, 42mm x 48mm to lug tips, 22mm lug width, original stainless steel screw back case with bi-directional timing bezel and faceted lugs with round pump pushers, vintage rubber strap, original black dial with luminous painted hour plots and an outer minute chapter in white, chronograph running indicator inset at 6, 17J cal 188, s#1053268, triple signed. Released in 1964, this model replaced the older more traditional diving chronograph Breitling had made, namely the Super Ocean ref 807. Breitling heavily modified the Venus caliber 188 to serve their purposes making this a highly unusual minute creeper chronograph with running indicator at 6 to distinguish when the timer was engaged. Truly a fascinating piece of 1960s era Breitling ingenuity and design.

The Omega Speedmaster was chosen by NASA in 1965 after outperforming numerous other contenders in rigorous testing including the famed Rolex Daytona. They were first issued during the Gemini program using the older straight lug style 105.002. More Speedmasters were purchased starting with the Apollo program astronauts being issued the "Professional" marked 105.012's in a beefier case with crown and pusher protectors as seen here. They remain flight qualified by NASA to this day and modern interpretations of this watch are still in production.

WW - Breitling Chono-Matic Chronograph, ref 2116, automatic, 38mm x 45mm to lug tips, 19mm lug width, original 18K yellow gold snap back case with round pump pushers, black leather strap, original champagne dial with applied gold baton indices, tachymeter scale along dial perimeter, date aperture at 6, two inset subregisters for minute recording and hour recording, 17J cal 11, s#1288932, triple signed. This is one of 100 originally produced for the launch of the Chono-Matic in 1969. As these started production at serial number 1288906, this is watch number 26 out of an estimated 100 produced, and this particular piece is the lowest serial number that could be found during a cursory internet investigation. Part of the historically significant partnership for project 99, Breitling along with Heuer, Hamilton/Buren and Dubois-Depraz set out to construct the world's first automatic chronograph, although who was truly "first" is up for endless debate among vintage collectors.

Released in 1965, this particular model is well known for being worn by Raquel Welch in the film "Fathom," as well as being worn by Jean-Claude Killy during the 1968 Winter Olympics where he picked up three gold medals in Downhill, Giant Slalom and Slalom.
