DESCRIPTION: EPW - "Breguet a Paris" marked case, verge fusee quarter-hour repeater with 3-figure jacquemart automaton, 57mm, 18K gold OF original case, repeat function activated by depressing pendant, spring-loaded signed gilt cuvette, gilt central dial chapter, left and right perimeter with multicolor gold automated jacquemarts meant to strike bells in sequence with repeat strike, automated child jacquemart at bottom meant to swing a hammer in sequence with repeat strike, KWKS, verge escapement, gilt mvt with pierced and foliate scrolled two-footed balance bridge, s#7372 within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 80.3 dwt (124.9 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: NR, not winding and a portion of chain is visible stuck below the barrel (unclear if chain is intact and complete as it is not visible without disassembly), balance swings freely, when pendant is depressed to activate repeat function only hour strikes are returned which sound as a dull thud, hands are set 15 minutes out of index with respect to hour strike returns and mvt is returning 12 strikes when hands are set within the period when it should be returning 1 strike, overhaul needed, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered fine scratches; nearly flawless dial with some mild fine scratches; excellent hands; case shows light wear, profuse dings and some dents to band, some dings to bezel and rear perimeter, reduced engine turning and engraving detail, cuvette with scratches below signature and some finish loss near center, inner front bezel is loose as it does not snap securely closed and inner bezel falls free when outer bezel is opened; bow pivots freely; plastic crystal with some fine scratches and abrasions.

DESCRIPTION: EPW - Edouard Favre Brandt, Locle, 47mm, 18K gold (tested) OF original case with "M.S. Ropes" engraved inside rear, signed gilt cuvette, 1891 paper from watchmaker W.H. Kehew of Salem, MA tucked within rear, white enamel SS impressed dial, KWKS, lever escapement, 15J, balance with parachute shock and compensation curb system, gilt mvt, s#16454 within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 47.8 dwt (74.4 g). The Ropes were a prominent Salem, Massachusetts family for many generations and are perhaps best known today for the "Ropes Mansion," a Georgian Colonial mansion located at 318 Essex Street which was inhabited by Ropes family members between 1768 and 1907 and which was prominently featured in the 1993 Disney film "Hocus Pocus."
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, few micro-fine scratches, small areas of mild haze to plate surfaces; dial with faint hl from 10 to center, faint hl from 4 to center; excellent hands, minute with oxide in a few areas; case shows very light wear, fine scratches and abrasions to cuvette from past key slips, scattered dings to rear, good engine turning detail apart from shoulder which has some reduction throughout including some full loss at upper-left, case rear lift spring needs assistance opening lid, cuvette with gilt loss to much of its exterior; bow pivots freely, push shows light wear; good glass crystal.

DESCRIPTION: EPW - Vacheron & Constantin, Genève, rare aluminum watch, 44mm, aluminum OF original Vacheron & Constantin case with "Presented to H.F. Jewell by Aluminum Company of Canada Ltd. in Recognition of 25 Years of Loyal Service 1949" engraved to rear, aluminum dial with applied numerals, SW-SS, lever escapement with capped escape wheel, 17J, aluminum mvt plates with fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#456827. Gross weight of assembled watch 12.8 dwt (19.9 g). A notably rare watch, this Vacheron & Constantin aluminum pocket watch was commissioned by Henry Birks of Montreal on behalf of the Aluminum Company of Canada as presentation pieces for their employees. The initial delivery of these watches occurred in 1938, and by April of 1950 a total of 271 examples were delivered. Based on observed examples, it appears a small but unknown number of additional examples were produced until at least 1955. These watches are a delight to hold in one's hand, as their remarkably light weight is immediately striking and these watches are in fact well less than one-half the weight of most equal sized gold cased Vacheron & Constantin dress watches.
CONDITION: Mvt: NR, fully wound, likely broken balance staff, overhaul needed, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, numerous scattered micro-fine scratches, small marring immediately around stem detent screw, case screws are missing; dial with scattered pinpoint surfaces spots, fine to micro-fine scratch inside 3; fair hands with nearly complete finish loss to minute and seconds-hand, finish loss to sizable portion of hour stem; case shows light wear, some scratches and mars around opening seam at lower rear, some scattered fine scratches elsewhere, good presentation engraving detail; bow pivots freely, crown shows light wear; good glass crystal.

Box in poor condition, rear of lower portion is detached leaving the top and bottom currently only held together by the inner silk liner, exterior with moderate wear and areas of finish loss, area of loss to upper portion at latch position.

An excellent example of this large sized chronograph, the caliber 11.404 was advertised in 1968 at a retail price of $170.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good chronograph and minute register function, split-seconds function stops correctly and resets without issue in the clockwise direction but has incomplete and/or sluggish resets in the counterclockwise direction, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, two small scratches to visible portion of barrel bridge, few scattered small micro-fine scratches; virtually flawless dial with small contact mark below minute register hand, few minuscule contact marks at perimeter near 7; nearly mint hands, minute register hand with paint scuff at center; case shows hardly any wear, few fine scratches to inner cuvette, no dents or dings, some small bits of black finish loss around rear perimeter; tight bow, crown shows hardly any wear; plastic crystal with some scattered mild fine scratches.

DESCRIPTION: EPW - Heuer, Swiss, Auto-Rallye dashboard mounting 60-minute timer, 55mm, mounted to square bracket measuring 58mm x 58mm, chrome-plated OF Heuer case with rotating black bezel having luminous marker, aftermarket chrome-plated base metal mounting bracket, black metal dial with "Halls" and crown logo marked within its lower portion, SW, lever escapement, 7J, satin nickel finish, mvt s#C7457, s#8995 to side of case. This excellent example features an attractive and rarely seen dial marked for retailer Halls of Kansas City, Missouri. Halls department store was founded in 1916 by Joyce C. Hall, who is known on a larger scale for having founded Hallmark greeting cards in 1910.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good stop, start and reset function, timepiece not disassembled to inspect mvt cosmetics; virtually flawless dial with only some tiny specks of dust on surface of visible portion; nearly mint hands with few minimal contact marks near center; case shows hardly any wear, few micro-fine scratches and small nicks, no dents; crown shows very little wear; good glass crystal.

CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good calendar function, sweep-seconds hand with uneven motion frequently hesitating for a few moments and then skipping forward to catch up, good hacking function when slide is engaged with case bezel opened but when bezel is closed the hacking slide does not stop the watch, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, numerous short fine scratches around pillar pin positions, some typical mild fine to micro-fine scratches elsewhere; dial with looseness to mvt along its left side, dial with scattered hls, small flake at right side rim of timekeeping register hole, few scattered fine scratches; fine hands, "humped" portion of sweep-seconds hand is tilted somewhat out of vertical orientation, calendar hand with ample finish loss and some oxide; outer case shows little wear, an attractive light patina, some short scratches at center rear, some longer fine scratches elsewhere to rear, mild shallow ding at center rear, closing with some gap to upper portion, button latch good though with dent to button surface; inner case shows little wear, hinge pin protruding slightly at right side and with cluster of short scratches and small dings to case surface adjacent protruding hinge pin tip, a circumferential indentation along left side and some circumferential rub to lower-right; bow pivots freely; domed glass bull's-eye crystal with some small scratches at center, edge chipping at top and in small area at lower-right.

DESCRIPTION: EPW - Juvenia, Swiss, unusual silver and gullioche enamel HC with folding front shutters, suitable as either a dress watch or small travel clock, 50mm x 38mm, gilt sterling silver and light blue guilloche enamel original Juvenia HC with shutters released by tilting the bow back, mvt and inner body of case are meant to be removed by loosening a screw left of stem, gilt dial with luminescent hour numerals, luminescent hands, SW-SS, lever escapement, 15J, wheel satin nickel finish, s#54936 within case. An unusual and strikingly attractive piece, we have handled only three total examples of this shuttered Juvenia style, and this is the only example of these three to feature guilloche enamel finish.
