Bartlett, 13J, 10S, 14K gold (tested) original R&A (Robbins & Appleton) HC with superb front engraving detail of an eagle with outstretched wings perched atop a shield and below a banner of stars, rear with name engraved to shield, engraved pendant and bow, gold cuvette, white enamel SS dial, KWKS, gold balance wheel, gilt mvt, s#159128. Comes as pictured with a 3.5 inch gold-filled chain and an attractive gold-filled key with faceted purple stone at its top. Gross weight of assembled watch 41.6 dwt (64.7 g). This watch is from a production run listed in Waltham factory records as having been made between March and June of 1865, a time period which overlaps with the closing events of the American Civil War. With its magnificent eagle imagery this piece embodies a strong American patriotism even though it was made during a time of great suffering and sorrow.

LPW - Omega Watch Co, Tissot, Locle, lady's miniature pendant watch, 24mm, 18K gold (tested) OF case with rear having superb blue guilloche enamel detail and a central pearl of 5.4mm diameter, seed pearl surrounds to front and rear, gold cuvette with fancy initials, fancy white enamel dial with numerals in radial orientation, hours 1 through 11 are blue and 12 is red, gold foil minute markers, SW-SS, lever escapement, 15J, satin nickel finish, s#699766. Gross weight of assembled watch 10.1 dwt (15.7 g). Tissot and Omega merged in 1930 to form the SSIH (Société Suisse pour l'Industrie Horlogère). This was the first Swiss watchmaking association and the company's watches were, like the present piece, signed Omega Watch Co. Tissot during this period.

Mvt: Running, a little stiff to set, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, few scattered dark spots and micro-fine scratches to plates; dial with prominent scratch inside 9, cluster of hls radiating outward from 9, negligible edge fleck under bezel at 1; virtually mint hands; case with superfluous pin-set assembly despite mvt being stem-set, case shows very little wear, dings to band at 3 and 6, enameling fully present with some small fine scratches and pinpoint nicks, all pearls are present; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal.
