PW Movements Only

Stock#: JH60788

DESCRIPTION: PW mvt only - Patek Philippe, Genève, minute repeater, 44mm dial canister ring diameter, HC model mvt, white enamel SS dial, SW-SS, fully capped lever escapement, likely 23-26J, wolf's tooth winding, gilt mvt, s#47604 marked to mvt's edge under dial adjacent pendant area.
CONDITION: Mvt: NR, can be prodded to tick at times with some excess pressure held to crown but balance motion is very sluggish, with low amplitude, and excess escapement noise when in dial down position, good repeat function and tone, overhaul needed, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, unevenness to gilt finish, fine scratch striations from past sanding or filing to repeat gong block; dial with two prominent short but wide scratches at center, additional lesser scratches surrounding center, hl from 12:30 to center, hls between 7 and 8, some beveling abrasion to perimeter of dial, canister ring is brass; excellent hands.
ESTIMATE: $3000 - $5000

Stock#: JH60419

DESCRIPTION: PW mvt only - Charles Fasoldt, Albany NY, unfinished late series OF model mvt, Fasoldt's co-axial double wheel escapement lever chronometer, 18S, mvt held within purpose-made OF display case of the type seen on a number of mvts from the Chamberlain collection, SW, 16J, gold jewel settings on escape wheel, fourth wheel and third wheel, gold Fasoldt patent regulator, nickel mvt finish, mvt is largely complete with the only visibly missing items being the center arbor, motion works, two barrel bridge screws, and winding arbor. The only movement marking is a partial serial number on the dial plate adjacent to a dial foot recess with the final digit being a clearly visible 8 while the preceding digit is largely obliterated by the dial foot recess, but what remains is consistent with its being a 3. Inferring from the serials of other similar open face stemwind Fasoldt movements, this suggests a possible intended serial for this piece of 538 that would fall in the final portion of Fasoldt production and suggests a likelihood that this movement was in its present nearly, but not quite, finished state in Fasoldt's workshop at the time of his passing in 1889. A great piece for the advanced collector of Charles Fasoldt.
CONDITION: Mvt: NR, incomplete with items missing as noted above, balance is overbanked, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, unfinished plate surfaces with ultra-fine scratch striations, some micro-fine scratches; display case shows very little wear, an attractive patina, few micro-fine scratches, no dents or dings; good glass crystals.
ESTIMATE: $2000 - $3000

Stock#: JH60868

DESCRIPTION: PW mvt only - LeCoultre & Co, Swiss, minute repeater with triple calendar, moonphase and chronograph, 45mm dial canister ring diameter, HC model mvt, white enamel quintuple-sunk dial, month aperture at 12, moonphase aperture within seconds-register, SW-shift-locking-LS, lever escapement with capped escape wheel, likely 27-35J, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, marked "LeCoultre & Co" beneath hammer, no visible s#.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, inconsistent repeat function, typically will strike correct number of hours on each engagement but often with no additional strikes for quarter-hours or minutes, occasionally will strike quarter-hours and on these instances the number of quarter-hour strikes was correct on our trials, on only a very few rare instances in our trials did movement strike any minutes and these were typically less strikes than hand setting would dictate, repeat tone good on the hour strikes but fully muffled on strikes of the other hammer for quarter-hours and minutes, overhaul needed for repeat function and tone, good chronograph function, day, date and moonphase advancing properly when hands are set forward through several days, all calendar functions and moonphase advancing correctly via adjustment tabs, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, significant surface dirtiness throughout, some oxide to steelwork; dial with hl at 1; excellent hands, hour with mild bends of tip.
ESTIMATE: $1000 - $2000
