Watch includes its original inner and outer boxes as well as matching punch paperwork; watch is from the estate of the original owner. One of the best unadulterated examples of a 6263 this cataloger has ever had the pleasure of handling.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, chronograph functions and resets properly, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, no oxide, very light fine scratches to Y bridge and plates; nearly flawless dial with hardly any surface spotting; excellent hands with light surface spotting, light ding to minute recorder hand center; unpolished case shows very little wear, retains all of its original factory finishing, light ding on bezel perimeter at 5, light dings on the backs of the lugs from being worn on a bracelet as well as light scratches from bracelet removal; bracelet shows very little wear, clasp blades are still tight like a new watch; original Rolex signed Triplock crown shows hardly any wear, screw down pushers show little wear, good threads; good crystal; resealed for auction. Hailed by most as one of the single greatest dress watches ever produced, from its perfect proportions to the legendary 12-600 and that enamel dial which is truly second to none. This watch has all the bells and whistles collectors dream about and leave letters to Santa for, including the original box and papers as well as the original matched serial hang tag, paper case back sticker, chronometer certificate, fold out manual and my personal favorite, a letter from Rolex detailing how the original owner, a one Mr. Kenneth B. Law who was serving in the US Air Force at the time, could acquire this fabled watch he so desperately wanted. Truly one of the finest complete sets of a Rolex GMT Master we have had the pleasure of handling in recent memory; don't let it slip away!
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, hardly any oxide to steelwork; nearly flawless dial with ideal creamy luminous plots, small oil spot at dial center at base of hands not noticeable unless highly scrutinized; fine-plus tritium Mercedes hands with light cracking to luminous material on GMT hand and loss of lume to minute hand; polished case shows very light wear, lug chamfers are still visible and crisp, bezel is incredibly stiff, several light dings on the backs of the lugs from being worn on a bracelet as well as a dent on the top-right lug; rebuilt bracelet shows light wear, hardly any stretch, all spring links have been rebuilt however the end links do not fit properly and they sanded off the 7206 reference number; original signed crown shows very little wear, good threads; good plastic crystal; resealed for auction. Includes period correct box and manuals as well as unsigned paperwork. The Omega Speedmaster was chosen by NASA in 1965 after outperforming numerous other contenders in rigorous testing. They were first issued during the Gemini program using the older straight lug style 105.002. More Speedmasters were thereafter purchased, starting with the Apollo program astronauts being issued the "Professional" marked 105.012's in a beefier case with crown and pusher protectors as seen here. They remain flight qualified by NASA to this day and modern interpretations of this watch are still in production.
