DESCRIPTION: Antique long guns - Amos S. Bisbing, Over Under Swivel Breech percussion Long Rifle, circa 1865, .43 caliber rifled barrel and .45 caliber smooth bore barrel, German silver trigger guard with engraved floral details, double set triggers with a forward trigger that operates the swivel breech, steel lock plate with floral engraved detail and the letters L.M, right side engraved with the name "L. Hettinger" (the original owner), straight steel tang with engraved flourishes, American walnut stock with cheek rest and carved details as well as inset German silver accents and hinged patch box, German silver curved moon butt plate, 37 inch octagonal barrels with fixed front German silver blade sights, top of each barrel marked "A.S. Bisbing, Maker." A truly impressive and incredibly rare piece of American firearms history; swivel breech firearms don't come up for auction often. Rifle measures 52.5 inches in length and weighs approximately 10 pounds; includes a soft protective gun case. This gun's original owner, a one Levi M. Hettinger, was a private in the 167th Pennsylvania Drafted Militia; Levi mustered out in August of 1863 and likely bought this soon after.
CONDITION: Good action with double set triggers, good swivel action, ramrod missing end cap; fine overall cosmetic condition, fine bore with ample oxidation, metal surfaces with ample surface spotting, pitting and finish loss, small dings and fine scratches are scattered about the steelwork; fine walnut stock with numerous dings and scrapes as well as a small crack near the tang and side plate, lead solder repair to the brass cap on the ramrod cover; trigger guard with small dings and scratches from years of use. DESCRIPTION: Antique long guns - Unsigned, Over Under Swivel Breech Flintlock Kentucky Long Rifle, circa 1840, .45 caliber rifled barrel and .44 caliber smooth bore barrel, brass sliding trigger guard which operates the swivel barrel lock, steel lock plate with engraved hunting dog scene and brass opposite side plate, straight steel tang, American tiger maple stock with cheek rest and brass hinged patch box, missing brass button with hole on bottom of stock, brass curved moon butt plate, 36 inch octagonal barrels with fixed front blade sights, A truly impressive and incredibly rare piece of American firearms history; swivel breech firearms don't come up for auction often. Rifle measures 52 inches in length and weighs approximately 9 pounds; includes a soft protective gun case which is not long enough to fully contain the rifle.
CONDITION: Hammer will only lock in the first position and does not stay at full cock, good rotating barrel function, one of the ramrods is missing its end cap; fine overall cosmetic condition, fine bore with ample oxidation, metal surfaces with ample surface spotting, pitting and finish loss, small dings and fine scratches are scattered about the steelwork, both frizzens are heavily pitted with one being worse than the other; fine tiger maple stock with evidence of numerous small repairs including a pinned crack near the trigger as well as several other dings and scrapes; trigger guard with ample dings and scratches from years of use. Pfeiffer of Cincinnati, American Percussion Drillings Rifle, circa 1865, 12 gauge shotgun barrels and a .30 rifled barrel, steel trigger guard with two triggers that operate both shotgun barrels and the rifle barrel, lock plate and hammers are a dull gray with floral engraving, plain tang, American walnut stock with inset brass patchbox, 25-1/4 round Damascus shotgun barrels with gold inlaid signature at top reading "G. Pfeiffer in Cincinnati," bottom rifled steel barrel, gold bead front sight with rear flip peep sight, rifle measures 43 inches in length and weighs approximately 10 pounds, includes soft protective gun sock.
CONDITION: Good action, double functions properly; excellent overall cosmetic condition, fine bore with hardly any oxidation, metal surfaces have aged a pleasing dull gray, small dings and fine scratches are scattered about walnut stock as well a small crack near the tang and on the underside of the stock near the butt, excellent rear sight; smooth trigger guard. DESCRIPTION: Antique long guns - Unsigned Percussion Schuetzen Rifle, .34 caliber, German silver trigger guard with fabulous scroll hand engraving and double set hair trigger, case hardened lock plate and hammer are a dull gray with fabulous floral hand engraving and the image of a very happy shooter, case hardened and florally engraved percussion bolster, case hardened and florally engraved tang with inlaid engraved man in silver, American walnut stock with fine checkering and a large cheek rest set with a German silver star, German silver crescent moon butt, 31 inch octagonal barrel drilled for false muzzle, globe style front sight with flat-top rear and an adjustable rear diopter sight. A great example of an American made Schuetzen rifle, these were originally used in the aforementioned Schuetzen matches which typically were 200 yards and used specialized targets. This rifle was made to perfectly fit the original shooter's dimensions and as such, the original owner was likely the only person who could fire this accurately. Rifle measures 48 inches in length and weighs approximately 10 pounds. Includes soft gun sock.
CONDITION: Good action, double set triggers function properly; excellent overall cosmetic condition, bright fine bore with hardly any oxidation, metal surfaces have aged to a pleasing dull gray, small dings and fine scratches are scattered about walnut stock, excellent rear and front sight show hardly any oxide; trigger guard shows little wear. DESCRIPTION: Antique long guns - Unsigned, child's size Fullstock Flintlock musket, .46 caliber smooth bore barrel, steel trigger guard with pineapple motif, steel stepped lock plates, plain steel tang, fancily carved maple stock with a bird's head carved into the handle and sun carved into the cheek rest, horn tip with matching ramrod, replacement steel butt plate doesn't fit the stock properly, 31 inch round barrel has aged to a pleasing dull brown, brass front blade sight. An interesting piece with incredibly fine detail work likely to train a young man in the ways of shooting. Musket measures 45.5 inches in length and weighs approximately 3 pounds; includes a soft protective gun sock.
CONDITION: Good action, however the frizzen is loose; excellent overall cosmetic condition, fine bore with light oxidation, metal surfaces have aged to a pleasing dull brown, numerous small dings, fine scratches and spots of oxidation are scattered about the steelwork; excellent maple stock with evidence of pin and glue repairs, missing rear swivel; excellent-plus trigger guard with light toning. DESCRIPTION: Antique long guns - H. Pieper of Belgium, double barrel shotgun, circa 1889, 12 gauge, steel trigger guard with double triggers, unembellished lock plates engraved "H. Pieper," plain tang, European walnut stock aftermarket recoil pad, 30 inch round Damascus barrels, barrel top is marked "Laminated Steel," brass bead front sight. A fabulous shotgun for the fellow who wants a spectacular hanger over the fireplace. Shotgun measures 47.5 inches in length and weighs approximately 8 pounds, includes soft gun sock.
CONDITION: Good action; excellent overall cosmetic condition, bore shows light oxidation, metal surfaces have aged to a pleasing dull gray, barrel in pleasing deep plum brown and with a fine Damascus pattern, small dings and fine scratches are scattered about walnut stock, checkered grip worn smooth; trigger guard shows little wear; replacement recoil butt pad from the early 20th century.
